This is real...he's here to stay...this is the one. We are preparing for my move to NY, When we met a little over a year ago. When I first looked into his eyes...I just melted...he was so handsome. And had the most beautiful eyes. He has a good heart too. He is a sweetheart...typical New Yorker..lol. But still my sweetie...my best friend...my rock...with him I feel secure.
After being diagnosed with HSV we both thought we would never find love again. We wondered who would want someone with an incurable STD? To us this was the best and last chance to find true love. I'm sure most people would feel like we did- insecure and finding true love was no longer an option. After learning how to finally be ok with the fact that we both have this incurable disease and a lot of searching, we found this amazing site. Here we found acceptance and realized were not alone with how we felt. We could finally talk to other people openly and know we weren't being judged. I searched many different profiles and found one that really stood out over all the rest. Once I found her I and read her profile, I knew she was someone very special that had to be in my life in one way or another. I must read her profile a million times but was to afraid to message her. So as luck would have it after about 2 weeks of looking constantly at her profile, she made the first move and messaged...

Once I found her I and read her profile, I knew she was someone very special that had to be in my life in one way or another. I must read her profile a million times but was to afraid to message her. So as luck would have it after about 2 weeks of looking constantly at her profile, she made the first move and messaged me out the blue. I couldnt believe a person thats so absolutely beautiful thinks and lives as I do. And it turns out all this time we lived only 3 miles apart. We exchanged emails for about 2 weeks and spoke on the phone a few times (First conversation lasted 4 hours!) , we made arrangements to finally meet. I was more nervous getting ready for this date then I've ever been in my entire life. At the same time she text me feeling exactly the same. She could barely get her eyeliner on straight because she was shaking so much. We both knew the person we were about to meet could very well be "The One". I picked her up with flowers, in her favorite color, in hand. When the door opened I saw the most gorgeous and angelic woman I've ever seen. We went to a place we could paint and have some wine. If felt as if we were in grade school and found our first love. Neither of us could stop smiling and laughing. And before we knew it 7 hours had passed. We had our second date the next night, and have been together every day since. We both knew before we even met in person that this was our soul mate. Neither of us believed in love at first sight, but now we defiantly do. Now 1 year and 3 months later we are engaged to be married Spring 2014. She is my best friend and my one true soul mate. Shes my other half and feels that we must have been built together. If it weren't for us contracting what we did and finding this site, we would never have met. God works in mysterious ways. We learned from this experience to never give up hope and by learning to be ok with yourself first, true love will find its way to you. It did for us, and now our lives are better and happier then ever before.

Dont give up and take a chance. Love WILL find you!
We first met on here back in 2006, but it didn't work out at that time. I sent him a message after noticing him back on here in September 2011. He drove the two hours to come and see me a couple of weeks later, and we have been together since. We still live two hours apart, but he has now decided that as soon as he can get a transfer from work here that he will come and live with me. I can now not imagine my life without him. I have never been so happy in my entire life. I would have never met him if it wasn't for this site, thank you so much!!
Advice to other members:
I found this site in 2006, and was on and off of here for some. I really did not see myself actually meeting someone off of here that i would fall in love with. But i really did. It was discouraging at times, but don't give up, you never know!!
I sent a message to James on October 2, 2012. He FINALLY messaged me back on Oct 22. (I still tease him about this)
I had started talking to someone else, but he stuck around and we texted consistently for two months as friends. He texted me get well texts and asked how I was doing when I was very sick in the hospital. Then, when we both were free from ties to other people, on Nov 3 (my birthday), I sent him a text message from my hospital bed saying I was interested in talking on the phone and meeting. That started a month of 4-6 hour phone calls several nights a week. I knew it was something special even then. He says he fell in love with me over the phone.
Because of our lack of money, we couldn't meet right away, but finally on Dec 15, 2012, when I had scrounged up some extra money for gas, I drove an hour to go see him.
I arrived at his house with a case of beer and an anxious heart. I saw him outside of his house and when I called his name and he turned aro...

Because of our lack of money, we couldn't meet right away, but finally on Dec 15, 2012, when I had scrounged up some extra money for gas, I drove an hour to go see him.
I arrived at his house with a case of beer and an anxious heart. I saw him outside of his house and when I called his name and he turned around, I got this wonderful feeling! We hugged and went inside.
We sat and watched cartoons (our favorite pass time) and talked for a couple hours. We sat a few foot apart, sitting on our hands and blushing like middle school crushes.
Finally, after a couple bottles of Budweiser, I took advantage of my dutch courage and leaned onto his shoulder. We shared our first kiss right after that.
After a painfully long week apart, on December 22, he drove to my house for Christmas weekend. The next night, he took my face in his hands and told me he loved me. He loved me before we met, and he knew he'd love me forever. He went home Christmas night to spend a few days with his family for the holiday, but he was back in 3 days to spend New Years weekend with me. He decided to stay.
Since then we've had our very own fairy tale. We fell in love with each others families, and even more with each other.
My past marriage, and his past hurts have really made us into who we are today and because of those, we fit perfectly together. We've been able to sit and let go of some hurt we'd never been able to before and we bring out the best in eachother!
On top of that, we simply have so much fun together. I feel like we've been best friends for years! Everyday is full of laughter.
Our future looks bright. He, a disabled veteran, has one more year left to finish in his CAD Tech program in college. He is unable to work most jobs, so money is tight, but we're making it.
We're waiting on wedding bells and babies until he gets his damaged hips repaired and we're financially stable. But we're dreaming of our future, and hope to open a business together someday.
We often say, "I'm so glad I got herpes!" with a chuckle.
We wouldn't have found each other without HV1, OR Positive Singles.
Thank you PS for taking something we'd considered a "curse" and helped us realize it's a BLESSING!!
Advice to other members:
I didn't get many responses to emails. Keep trying, and don't take it as rejection. Just send more messages!
We all have baggage. The key is finding someone whose baggage is compatible with yours.
I am happy to report to you that Dan and I got back together and decided to get married down the line! We are very happy after taking a break.
We met in early October and took a break since we moved so fast with our relationship over the holidays.
So would you please put our success story back up as dating in the same lineup?
Thank you so much! We are very happy and grateful to you. Life is NOT over with the hsv- it's only beginning! I have the other pic for you that was similar.
Congratulations! We are so pleased that you met someone wonderful here, and we'd love to hear any kind of successful experiences. You are living proof our site works.
